Temporal slumming

I've always loved music. But as I look back, I wonder, how could we have taken ourselves so seriously when we were listening to these guys?

And I loved this song so much that I played it until the tape broke. Yeah, you heard me--cassette tape. I would do it again, if only I had a tape deck.

I suppose that it's my penance to make up for these past transgressions by having to sing this song 63,231 times a day.

Now, what's wrong with a little Depeche Mode? (What, were they like, 16 years old in that video? Thanks for making me feel elderly this morning!) Though I was a little nauseated by the whole mesh undershirt look.

  2. OutSTANDing CSC! (Did LSJUMB ever cover that? Seems made for them . . . )

And yeah, those Mode guys sure do seem young in that dinner club. There's a band whose sound might be bigger than their look, at least at that stage of development. Or were they being intentionally ironic?

Oh man Bradstein, Jack is transfixed by the wheels song. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

  4. My kids all came over to watch the wheels on the bus song.

I guess it doesn't ever get old. The oldest said he knows some people that could make it easier on you.

  5. I like the wheels song best myself, but then my daughter will tell you I never had any taste. In music or clothes. I remember singing it often. Sometimes it still makes the playlist. Don't forget the cows on the bus that go quack and the dogs that go moo, or the pigs that go meow, and so on. They are in our version. So are the mommies that say I love you (complete with a kiss) and the daddies that say the same thing.

Do not ask what Old McDonlad has on his farm, it only gets worse.

  6. Amama: Yeah, I was thinking 12, but OK, 16.

MrJ: Glad you liked it. I've never heard LSJUMB do it, but it's been awhile since I've been to a show. In fact, you were at the last show I went to, I believe.

Christy: Anything I can do to help.

Kmoo: Glad to know that we'll be singing that for the rest of our lives.

CAGirl: It sounds like Old McDonald gets on your bus with everyone from the farm. Of course, our favorite farmer (after Uncle Pete) is Farmer Brown. Click clack moo. Click clack moo. Clickety clack moo.
